A few weeks ago, the soil analysis campaign planned for the Life Priorat+ Montsant project began. This type of analysis is advisable to do it when the harvest is over, and especially before proceeding to the winter fertilization to verify that the concentrations of the major nutrients are correct (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium). In addition, it is advisable to include organic matter in this analysis because of its importance in the development of the microbial flora of the soil.
To collect soil samples, they are collected at a depth of about 30 cm and an average of 3 or 4 sampling points per hectare are made. Once the samples have been taken, the analyses are carried out and in approximately 20 days when the results are available, it is possible to proceed to make the fertilizer recommendations to the vine growers.
